San Clemente del Tuyú is a synonym for nature. Located at the mouth of the Río de La Plata in the Argentinian Sea, it encloses several attractions such as parks and reserves where you can see all the sea and land fauna and flora of the region. Learning and entertainment are combined in this heavenly place. Besides enjoying the beach and all the nautical sports, San Clemente offers a number of
places worthy of visiting such as the Vivero Cosme Argerich, zoned Municipal Ornithological and Forest Reserve. Another important place is Mundo Marino (Sea World) the largest oceanarium in South America and one of the 15 in the world which is home of killer whales. Every day, there are shows performed by animals and activities to do all day long.
From Punta Rasa, we can see how the extensive Río de La Plata merges with the sea. This is a special place for fishing corvina negra and gathers fishermen from all the country. This place has become a fauna reserve due to the fact that hundreds of birds nest there. For this reason, Argentine Wild Life Foundation has settled a Biological Station there. Bahía Aventura Park is also located here, where you can climb San Antonio Lighthouse and play educational and interactive games.
Eventually, the special attraction are the ¨sea thermal baths¨, thermal salt waters of great quality from the deep layers of the earth, with a temperature of 43°.
Southwards San Clemente, we find Las Toninas, with extensive, gently sloping fine-sanded beaches. There, you can see the ¨winkles´ yard¨ dragged from the bottom of the sea by ocean currents.

Como todos los balnearios de esta parte de la costa, San Clemente del Tuyú surgió como parte de un loteo sobre terrenos pertenecientes a una estancia. En este caso, la estancia El Tuyú (zona conocida así desde la colonización) propiedad de la familia Leloir.
A mediados de los años veinte del siglo XX, la heredera de la estancia, Señora Hortensia Aguirre de Leloir, decidió construir casas de verano en la región. Como crece la afluencia de turistas, casi diez años después, se forma una sociedad que realiza el loteo de la zona y lo vende.
Don José Pereira y su familia instalan en 1934 una proveeduría dando inicio a los primeros vestigios de pueblo. Además, este emprendedor de la zona construyó los "Ranchos de Pereira ", fue el fundador de la Sociedad de Fomento y luego de la Sala de Primeros auxilios, además del Hotel Pereira.
Finalmente, el partido de San Clemente del Tuyú se creó en 1978 y tiene el orgullo de ser el primer loteo del Partido de General Lavalle destinado a balneario Turístico en el año 1935 ya que se asignó como día de la fundación de San Clemente del Tuyú, el día 23 de noviembre de 1935.
